Stone is our wealth

Sergei Avanesovich Melkumian, the author of the book, Doctor of Geography, Professor of the Yerevan Institute of National Economy, was born in 1931 in the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region in the village of Chartar. He is one of the leading investigators of rational usage of the natural resources of the Armenian SSR and the author of numerous published works, including more than ten monographs. He had been working fin the Armenian Scientific Research Institute of Stone and Silicates for a long time. In his scientific investigations S. Melkumian focuses his attention on the problems of economic evaluation, and economical, expedient and interrelated usage of natural stones.

This book is a study of the stone used in Armenian Architecture, from churches to government buildings.
